'Daily Mail' reports Valerie Jarrett moves in with Obamas

Valerie Jarrett is a 60-year-old Iranian born American who served as Senior Adviser to former President Barack Obama from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017. Jarrett's name has been trending as a result of an article by the Daily Mail that claims that the former Obama adviser has moved into the the former president's new Washington home, which the publication describes as "nerve center for their plan to mastermind the insurgency" being directed against President Donald Trump. No other media outlets appear to have confirmed the Daily Mail's claims, which are said to detail Jarrett and the former president "plotting to overthrow the Trump administration, forcing an impeachment or resignation."

An examination of tweets from Valerie Jarrett's official Twitter account at 9:15 p.m ET on March 3, 2017 showed no indication of a reaction of any sort to the Daily Mail piece. Ebony has noted social media users speculating that conservatives are flaunting Jarrett's name in an attempt to draw attention from Attorney General Jeff Sessions' decision to recuse himself from investigations into allegations that the Trump presidential campaign had repeated contact with members of the Russian government. Some have called for Sessions' resignation.

Before working for the Obama administration, Valerie Jarrett worked for former Chicago Mayor Harold Washington and served as the chief executive officer of real estate management firm The Habitat Company, Jarrett was born in Shiraz, Iran and attended the University of Michigan and Stanford. Hollywood Life reports that Jarrett's position with the Obama White House was surrounded in "controversy" and that she first met the former president and Michelle Obama in 1991.

Valerie Jarrett was said to have later given Michelle Obama a job in the office of former Mayor Washington and the two "transitioned to the Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development together." While it has been confirmed that the Obamas have moved into a home sized at 8,200 square feet located within two miles of the White House, in Washington, D.C., rumors of a plan for an "anti-Trump war room" appear to be unsubstantiated, as reports that Valerie Jarrett has moved in with the Obamas appear to be, as well. Ebony allows that it might be possible that the former adviser could have moved in with the former president, saying that it is something that she would be "free to do."
