Donald Trump is Marginalizing the Wrong Groups

Looking back on history one can’t help but notice the most effective leaders have been those able to harness the prejudices of their most volatile constituencies, really facilitate that hate, and concentrate this hatred into marginalizing certain groups that are at some distinct disadvantage. One of a few examples include the way the Founding Fathers were able to help settlers to steal this land from “other” human beings by making these folks representing “other” seem like they were not human at all.

One of the popular slogans during this part of our illustrious history was, “Nits make lice.” Basically this slogan reinforced that not only was it ok to kill, rape, and steal from the Native American adults who originally inhabited this country, we could also murder their children to hedge against future infestation with a clear and clean conscience.

And boy howdy did this country buy in on that idea! Why? These foreigners in their own land had something the rest of us wanted, and it was convenient to just marginalize them and take all their stuff.

And then it was easy to marginalize the African American population because a lot of work had to be done to develop this country just how we wanted it, and the settlers, God bless them, just really didn’t want to work that hard or pay fair wages. Our answer: free labor brought over from parts unknown and color-coated to stick out like a sore thumb. Again, people whose lives just didn’t matter to the part of the population with all the forward momentum.

When human lives aren’t valued, stuff gets done! Just look at some of the World’s greatest structures. Do you really believe those massive pyramids were built by happy, well-fed workers? And Donald Trump understands this. He’s on a quest to reverse the hands of time, to “Make America Great Again!”

For the most part he’s really using some clever tactics, but while marginalization is a proven formula as old as time itself, his execution leaves something to be desired. For example, he wants to build a wall to keep Mexicans out? How does he think Trump Tower stays so clean? Plus, Mexicans are a hungry people that want a better way of life, much like the original settlers, so why not hitch your lasso to all that straight line inertia?

Additionally, it is often a popular move to choose a religious group to prey on in times of societal renovation, and true to the paradigm, Mr. Trump has chosen the Muslims. Again, a good idea, but let’s think about who we’re marginalizing and what we want. Who represents what made this country great in the first place more than Fundamentalist Muslims. Were they not simpler more manageable times when the entire female gender was held back and not allowed to participate in anything but the most menial of tasks?

Yes, there are still some real firecrackers in the Christian faith, but for the most part it is a religion of tolerance, of love, a toothless old woman, not the rabid, frothing dog of yesteryear. How are we supposed to better this society behind a religion whose lion’s share of members are no longer even willing to murder able-bodied men who are different, much less slaughter women and children.

And you might be saying, “Well, that froth is for me to whip into a foam,” but you’re setting yourself up for failure here, Mr. Trump. One little thing goes wrong and the peaceful do-nothings prevail. There’s a better way to do this.

The revolutionary idea I am suggesting, if you haven’t guessed, is to marginalize white Christians! Think about it. They’re due!! And they meet the criteria. They have what people want: money and things. The rest of the world just needs some glowing sun-like orb to tell them it’s ok to take it all. Mr. Trump, just imagine the impact you could make with all your money and luminescent orange skin compared to say an ill-funded, pale and drug addled Jim Jones.

And I know what you’re saying, “But they make up too much of the population!” But do they really? Christianity in this country is waning. Many folks are on the fence. Plus, hardcore white Christians have been talking about being persecuted for years, yet not at any point has that ever happened in this country. They’ll probably be ecstatic to have the opportunity to finally, actually, honest to goodnessly be treated bad.

Study your history. Radical religion is what made this country "great" in the first place

“But I’m white and sometimes I pretend to be Christian,” you might say. Never fear, there was another fellow took what the Jews had for the population despite the fact he was part of that heritage, and it all worked splendidly until he bit off more than he could chew. Mr. Trump, just imagine how easy a transition it will be for you having never been an actual Christian or involved in the worship of anything save money, power, and blondes with big tits.

And while only marginalizing white Christians may seem a difficult trick at first, let’s think about that. Christianity really shouldn’t involve white folks anyway. After all, the religion began in Africa in the first place. White people have had no problem excluding people of color from Christianity in the past, why should the religion’s original owners balk at the logic of doing the same to them?

My Liege, utterly disdain, reject, and kill the logic, the humanity, the foul tolerance that has made us weak and obese! Say to every Muslim and Mexican, vote for me and you’ll reap the rewards of hatred! Let people of color flood this country, Mr. Trump! Tell them it is ok to rape and sodomize and kill our white Christians, to work their lazy asses until they are all but dead to breed them like cattle to take away their way of life, their cultures, their names, their very souls!

Open back up the gates of prosperity, and enter this great land into a time of revolution not seen since the first white settler murdered an Indian child! Give it all back you saint, you champion of the people! Play God my friend, because nobody in this world is innocent, and you’re either winning or losing, and with the stakes this high, there is no price too grand for victory!

“Make America Great Again!!!”

Author's Note:

I do not endorse hatred or racism. So many of our intelectuals are flumoxed by Mr. Trump and his popularity. What is happening here is nothing new. In fact it is has been around as long as there have been humans. Good old-fashioned ignorance and racism. That is alll this is.

Why can't people see him for what he is? I question the sanity of his supporters. What are they thinking?

Larry, excellent job! I am as disgusted by politics this year as I've ever been....maybe all the way back to Nixon...and yet this is a fascinating election as the people have turned their fear and anger into a giant middle finger at established politicians....where this will all lead us nobody knows, and that is a bit scary.

I don't like fences. They remind me of the Berlin Wall, and I would hate to see us, the "defenders of liberty," stoop to that. I suppose we have to take Trump seriously by what he says, but I am clinging to the hope that he is just an incurable narcissist who wants to be President just to satisfy his own ego. To do this he will say whatever he has to say, no matter how outrageous, impractical, or unconstitutional his ideas are. I am hoping that, if elected (perish the thought), he will spend most of his time in Oval Office photo ops, and pay only lip service to this nonsense.

A long time ago I heard someone saying that a country actually deserves the leader is has. Can it be else? I hope America stays safe in 2017 with this guy, but I'm not so sure about that. Good hub, Larry.

This is a very effective piece of satire, Larry. The thought of Trump as president and the idea that so many people support his actions and speeches is both worrying and scary.

Thanks to everybody for having dropped by. I hope it's obvious that I'm not advocating that any group rule with impunity. Plainly stated, this article is to show folks in the majority just how bad it sucks to be marginalized.

I know I'm a broken record here, but this "new" thing that is Donald Trump is just old style racism. People are feeling good because they're being told what they want to hear and their prejudices are being facilitated and legitimized in such a way that they are being duped into believing that that isn't what they are at all.

Thanks to those of you who get it, but I do so enjoy hearing from those of you who don't.

Peace and love always,

I'm sad that this satire is dying on the vine. What is more topical than Trumps racist agenda right now?

I was really hoping this article would bring out the weirdos. They're always entertaining, and good for business, lol.

I guess I should be encouraged that only reasonable people have responded so far. Maybe there aren't as many idiots as I thought? Maybe they just cant understand satire?

Mel: just wanted to respond to your thoughts in particular, because you bring up some additional valid points.

First off, I have a fairly strong belief that Trump's supporters are just really loud, and that he won't win this election.

2nd, if he does, I don't think he will cause as much destruction as say, Crews or senator Ryan would because in my opinion he is a blowhard and not terribly bright. He will also destroy a lot of unity in the Republican Party. While people like the Koch brothers own someone like Crews and Crews is an intelligent, albeit evil and corrupt entity, the potential for destruction to the American people is enormous.

Trump is a small time unintelligent billionaire in it for himself, in my interpretation, and though the Global embarrassment of his election would be shameful, I don't think he would do quite as much damage in the long run.

Except for this racism thing. It scares me the way folks have taken to it. My immediate family is interactial. My extended family is very multicultural.

Not that you have to be in my boat to care, but I look at my little brown girl and think about her future in this country, then I look at history, and the destruction forward momentum has caused, and then I think about us just all picking up and going somewhere else. Am I overreacting? Probably.

I just don't want people to think we're so cosmopolitan now that we can't be lulled into the same mistakes of the past. We're the same people with the same weaknesses we've always had.

Hi Larry Rankin, It is sad that there is really not a good choice. I am afraid of Mr. Trump, I think Trump and Clinton, would do better to talk about what they are going to do for the country instead of tear down each other. Great Hub. Stella

Trump would tear down this country faster than an infectious disease. Make America Great Again? Not with his demagogue thoughts.

The last politician in Britain to polarize people like Trump has was Maggie Thatcher! In some parts of Britain her name is still a cuss word and say you voted for her and you could get seriously hurt yet she won three elections because her economic policies made sense!

I don't know about all the 'Don's' policies and statements (my wife thinks he should be in asylum!) but the USA can't keep going with a thirteen trillion dollar debt and he's the only one promising to reduce it that's what I think a lot of them are hoping for, as for the rest and for myself I'm sad it isn't Sanders taking him on as I really think he has the working man's (and woman) support
