I am a political observer and have been for over 40 years, since I was old enough to vote. I have never missed an election, whether it was local or national. I have lived in New England most of my life, so I can be a bit salty at times. At 62 years of age (as of 6/3/16) I have had more than my share of government watching. I've been part of the military (US Navy, Viet Nam era veteran), so I know what our kids go through now, and how poorly they are treated by those in power. The same ones that sent them there in the first place. I have been a member of the Republican National Committee, but left the party in the 80's when I saw the damage being done by the Reagan Administration's Trickle Down. I am now a confirmed Democratic Socialist, believing that government SHOULD be Of the People, By the People and For the People rather than owned by a ridiculously rich few. But, most of all, I'm a member of the nearly extinct American middle class. I believe we are not totally incapable of repairing what the oligarchs have done, but I also know that it will take a lot of work by a lot of people to beat them at their game. No one knows what the future may bring, but this is certain; when people start exposing what goes on behind the secret doors and meetings, we are in the midst of a political revolution, and the people, regardless of their own ideologies, need to work together to take our government back from the Oligarchs. I will continue to do my part until I either can no longer, or until things are back to the way they should be.
